Tim McGraw makes new film with Sandra Bullock
Tim McGraw will star with Sandra Bullock in a new film about Michael Oher, the University of Mississippi offensive lineman who overcame a troubled childhood with the help of a well-to-do family, according to a press release. The film is based on the bestselling 2006 novel by Michael Lewis, "The Blind Side: Evolution of the Game," which chronicles Oher's life prior to college.
McGraw and Bullock will portray Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy, who took Oher into their home when he was a homeless teen. McGraw's character in the film helps Oher get through a private high school and raise his grades, enabling him to attend college and play football.
Shooting begins at the end of the month in Atlanta. Additionally, Oher, who reportedly claims he has not read the book, is widely expected to be a first round pick next month at the National Football League Draft.
McGraw most recently co-starred in "Four Christmases," with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. The country-music superstar also starred in 2006's "Flicka," and had parts in "Friday Night Lights" and "The Kingdom."
