Depeche Mode to take on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
Depeche Mode will promote their brand-new album and impending world tour on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" tomorrow night (4/23), shutting down Hollywood Boulevard for the late-night performance.
The gig, which will mark the new-wave pioneers' first late-night talk show appearance since announcing the release of "Sounds of the Universe" and subsequent roadwork, will feature the band performing several tracks from the new record, of which two will air nationwide. The album's first single, "Wrong," will be one of those two featured on the ABC show.
Depeche Mode's 12th album hit shelves yesterday (4/21) and features 13 new tracks. The long-awaited studio effort is also available as part of the iTunes Pass program, which offers up a digital version of the record, as well as 10 pass-only bonus cuts. Access to the exclusive content ends June 16, according to the online music retailer.
The English trio will embark on a sweeping world tour, aptly titled "Tour of the Universe," beginning May 10 in Tel Aviv, Israel, and winding around Europe through mid-July. The band then hops the pond for a North American leg, which kicks off July 24 in Toronto, hitting major markets through early September. Further dates--scattered throughout Mexico and Europe--round out the rest of the band's 2009 tour itinerary.
