Heart, Wyclef, others honored at ASCAP pop awards

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart , Wyclef Jean and Santigold were among the honorees at the 26th Annual Pop Music Awards, which took place Wednesday night (4/23) in Los Angeles.

The Wilson sisters received ASCAP's Founders Award, Jean was given the ASCAP Creative Voice Award, and Santigold (formerly Santogold) was honored with ASCAP's Vanguard Award.

Awards were also given to the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed pop songs of 2008, including Stargate's Mikkel Eriksen and Tor Hermansen (Songwriter of the Year); Jesse McCartney and Ryan Tedder (Song of the Year, for "Bleeding Love"); and Publisher of the Year (a tie between EMI Music Publishig and Sony/ATV Music Publishing).
