Hatebreed prep for 'Decimation of the Nation'
Hardcore metal outfit Hatebreed will take to the road this summer for the "Decimation of the Nation" tour in support of the band's forthcoming covers album, 'For the Lions."
The US road trip, which hits 25 cities through early September, kicks off July 31 in Rochester, NY, with the rockers canvassing the nation through the tour's final stop Sept. 2 in Scranton, PA. Details are below.
The tour, presented by retail chain Hot Topic, will feature heavy-metal act Chimaira opening all shows.
"It's been over a year since we've done a complete United States tour," Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta said on the band's website, "and we haven't played some of these places in ages so we're really amped to hit the road in support of 'For the Lions' and play for all of our die-hards!"
The Grammy-nominated group, which co-hosted MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" earlier this week, will release its fifth full-length studio album, "For the Lions," May 5. The 18-track record covers songs from a variety of influences, including Metallica ("Escape"), Suicidal Tendencies ("Suicidal Maniac"), Slayer ("Ghosts of War") and Black Flag ("Thirsty and Miserable"). The video for the Slayer cover premiered Wednesday (4/29) on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball."
The metal band's most recent album, "Supremacy," which surfaced in 2006, peaked at No. 31 on The Billboard 200.
