Widespread Panic fills in the fall itinerary blanks

Widespread Panic , who regularly did sell-out business during its two-month summer tour, is confirmed to play 29 dates on a fall tour that is set to run through Dec. 1.
The itinerary for the jam band includes a three-night stand in New Orleans and two nights each in San Francisco and Memphis. The first dozen cities on the itinerary were announced earlier this month.
On Dec. 30 and 31, the band is scheduled to play year-ending gigs at Atlantas Philips Arena. The Athens, Ga.-based group has begun its in-house, mail-order ticketing for the shows--details are available on the bands official website--and tickets will go on sale through traditional outlets on Nov. 11.
Widespread Panic's latest album "Another Joyous Occasion" was the first release of the band's independent label Widespread Records. The album features 11 tracks that were recorded during the band's 1999 summer tour.
Sweetwater Productions, a filmmaking team of brothers Christopher and Geoffrey Hanson, filmed more than 450 hours of footage during Widespread Panic's summer tour for a forthcoming feature film on the band. The footage includes the bands performances with Taj Mahal, Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers Band) and Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane), according to the bands publicist. A release date for the film has not been set.
