Jane's Addiction frontman injured on stage

Jane's Addiction 's co-headlining run with Nine Inch Nails is off to a bumpy start after frontman Perry Farrell suffered a significant leg injury during the outing's third stop, which took place last night (5/10) in Atlanta.

"Perry injured his leg during tonight's opening number ... and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital after the show," reads a message posted at Farrell's website earlier today, which adds that, "although Perry was able to soldier on and complete the show, this could be something that slows him down a bit as the band continues their tour."

A subsequent update from Farrell's wife and bandmate, Etty, says that Farrell tore a calf muscle, and that he has been advised by his doctor to use crutches and stay off it for a week.

Despite his doctor's orders, Farrell apparently plans to take the stage for the tour's next engagement, set for tomorrow night (5/12) in Austin, TX; according to his website, Farrell is "determined to rock Austin the f--- out."
