Norwegian electropop/hip-hop duo Madcon are not exactly a household name in this neck of the woods. However, the World Music Award winners seem poised to impress US audiences, armed with the popularity of their smash hit "Beggin," which reached No. 2 on the European Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Formed in 1992 by Tshawe Baqwa and Yosef Wolde-Mariam, Madcon soon cornered the Nordic Music scene, scoring supporting gigs for the likes of Wu-Tang Clan , 50 Cent , Destiny's Child , Alicia Keys , Xzibit and Busta Rhymes . In 2004, the duo released their official debut album, "It's All a Madcon," which won them a Norwegian Grammy Award.
Their latest set, dubbed "InCONvenient Truth," is due to be released sometime this year. Madcon performed a set at KIIS FM's Wango Tango on Saturday (5/9) in Irvine, CA, and LiveDaily’s Tim Mosenfelder was there to get photos of the guys in action.
