Crosby, Stills & Nash and moe. headline Gathering of the Vibes

The Gathering of the Vibes Festival again will take root on the East Coast this summer with headliners Crosby, Stills & Nash, moe. and Ratdog.

Now in its 14th year, the summertime event will take over Bridgeport, CT's Seaside Park July 23-26. The four-day music extravaganza, which began as a celebration of the life of Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia, attracts jam bands and blues acts from across the nation. One of the Thursday evening (7/23) headliners, acoustic rocker P.J. Pacifico, hails from the area and was selected from thousands of artists who entered an online contest to perform.

"We listened to and reviewed thousands of bands submissions, which was ridiculously challenging to narrow down to just a few artists," Ken Hays, the festival's Executive Director explained in a press release. "Ultimately, P.J.'s voice sealed the deal. When we heard him sing an incredibly inspiring and soulful voice we knew we had the right guy."

Along with the standard festival areas for food and craft vendors, this laid-back event also caters to tapers, with special sections marked off specifically for those capturing the live shows' audio.

This year's roster also features Deep Banana Blackout, Dark Star Orchestra, George Clinton, JJ Grey & Mofro, Keller Williams, The Levon Helm Band, Guster, State Radio, Buddy Guy, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, John Brown's Body and the Harlem Gospel Choir, among others.

Ticketing information is available at the event's website.

Editor's Note: Gathering of the Vibes is now in its 14th year. This story was corrected on 5/14 to reflect that fact.
