Boy George released from jail

Boy George has been released from a UK prison just four months into his 15-month sentence. The former Culture Club singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, is expected to wear an electronic tag during the remaining 11 months of his sentence, according to BBC News.

O'Dowd was convicted of false imprisonment after admitting he handcuffed a male escort to a wall at his London home in April 2007. George reportedly claimed he handcuffed Norwegian Audun Carlsen because he had stolen photographs from a laptop.

The 47-year-old performer was greeted by friends and waved to waiting media as he left Edmunds Hill Prison in Suffolk last week. He reportedly was driven to his London home.
