T.I. to serve time in Arkansas federal prison

T.I. 's scheduled incarceration for weapons charges is expected to be served in a federal prison in Arkansas, about 430 miles west of his hometown of Atlanta, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., reportedly is due to arrive at the low-security Forrest City Federal Correctional Complex later this month.

Harris was arrested by undercover agents in an Atlanta shopping center parking lot in 2007.

He later pleaded guilty to charges he attempted to buy machine guns, ammunition and silencers. In his plea, T.I. agreed to do 1,000 hours of community service in exchange for a reduced prison sentence.

In addition to community service, a federal judge ordered the hip-hop star to spend a year and a day in a low-security facility and pay a $100,000 fine.
