Five years after forming as The Shrinky Dinks in Orange County, CA, the band that became Sugar Ray [ tickets ] gained headway in 1997 with the single "Fly" from their second album, "Floored." Featuring reggae artist Super Cat [ tickets ], the song received heavy radio airplay and later was certified double platinum.

In 1999, Sugar Ray used the title of their next album, "14:59," to answer critics who said the band was a flash in the pan, implying that their 15 minutes of fame were not yet up. The point was punctuated when a single from said release, "Every Morning," reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, followed-up by "Someday" which reached No. 7. Later the album was certified triple platinum.

Fast-forward 21 years and a new Sugar Ray album, "Music for Cougars," is hitting the shelves next month. On July 24, frontman, Mark McGrath [ tickets ] and company will kick off a 35 city tour through to September.
