Eminem to launch 'Relapse' with free Detroit show
Detroit rapper Eminem will mark the release of his new album, "Relapse," with a free hometown show set to take place tomorrow (5/19).
Tickets for the all-ages event will be doled out on a first-come, first-served basis at 5 p.m. today (5/18) at Record Time on Gratiot Avenue in Roseville, MI, according to a blog entry posted at Eminem's MySpace page. Though the MySpace announcement advises fans that the concert venue and door times will be printed on the tickets, the Associated Press reports that the show will take place at MotorCity Casino's 1,500-seat Sound Board theater.
Em's free Detroit performance follows his Friday (5/15) appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," for which he and Kimmel reportedly flew 200 laid-off auto workers to Los Angeles to attend the show.
"Relapse," Eminem's first new studio set since 2004's "Encore," lands in stores tomorrow. Full-length music videos for two of the album's cuts--"3 a.m." and "We Made You"--are streaming at Eminem's website, as are audio snippets of all 15 of the forthcoming album's tracks. The full album currently is streaming at Eminem's MySpace page.
