Despite spending only three days on the shelves during its debut week, "21st Century Breakdown," Green Day [ tickets ]'s first new studio set since 2004's "American Idiot," follows in its predecessor's footsteps by entering the US album chart at No. 1.

Surfacing last Friday (5/15) instead of on the customary Tuesday, "21st Century Breakdown" moved about 215,000 copies during its first few days on store shelves, according to Nielsen SoundScan retail-sales figures as reported by Billboard; by comparison, "American Idiot" moved 267,000 copies during its first seven days in circulation.

The abbreviated inaugural week didn't keep "21st Century Breakdown" from easily outdistancing the competition, with its closest challenger, the " Hannah Montana [ tickets ]: The Movie" soundtrack, coming in at No. 2 on sales of 68,000 copies.

The chart's only other Top 10 debut this week comes from Cam'Ron, whose "Crime Pays" moved 43,000 copies its first week in stores to land at No. 3. Lady GaGa's "Fame" follows at No. 4 with 41,000 copies sold, and Rascal Flatts [ tickets ]' "Unstoppable" drops one notch to No. 5 with sales of 33,000.

Rounding out the Top 10 are Bob Dylan [ tickets ]'s "Together Through Life" at No. 6 with 31,000 copies; Taylor Swift [ tickets ]'s "Fearless" at No. 7 with 30,000 copies; Chrisette Michele [ tickets ]'s "Epiphany"--which last week debuted at No. 1--down to No. 8 with 29,000 copies; Rick Ross [ tickets ]' "Deeper Than Rap" at No. 9 with 26,000 copies; and Ciara [ tickets ]'s "Fantasy Ride" at No. 10 with just a few hundred copies shy of Ross' total.
