Michael Jackson postpones initial O2 shows

Eccentric pop icon Michael Jackson has postponed the initial dates of his planned 50-show run at London's O2 arena.

The residency's originally scheduled July 8 kick-off has been pushed back to July 13, while previously scheduled shows on July 10, July 12 and July 14 have been pushed back until March 1, March 3 and March 6, respectively, according to Jackson's website.

BBC News reported today (5/20) that concert promoters AEG Live said that the delays are the result of Jackson needing more time for dress rehearsals.

As previously reported, Jackson is scheduled to play 50 sold-out shows at the O2 arena from mid-July through March of next year. Details are available at MichaelJacksonLive.com.
