Bluesman Keb' Mo' [ tickets ] has revealed a handful of spring and summer dates, most of which are festivals spread across the western portion of the US.

The in-progress North American outing, which began May 15 in Agoura Hills, CA, continues tonight (5/22) at California's Sonoma Jazz Festival and runs through a Sept. 11 appearance at Urbana, IL's Wall to Wall Guitar Fest. Plans include a one-off Canadian gig slated for Aug. 9 at the Burnaby Blues & Roots Festival in Burnaby, British Columbia. The full schedule is below.

The Grammy-winning musician--whose most recent studio effort, "Suitcase," topped Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart when it surfaced in 2006--recently released the single "A Brand New America" in time for President Barack Obama's January inauguration. Mo' is in the process of recording a new album, according to his website.

The singer/songwriter/guitarist is a well-known political and social activist; in February, Mo' took part in the Phillip Glass-directed Tibet House Benefit Concert alongside Steve Earle, Patti Smith & Jesse Smith, Vampire Weekend and many others at New York City's Carnegie Hall.

The blues musician also performed as part of the Playing For Change Band on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in late March. The TV performance meant to bring attention to the nonprofit of the same name, which aims to connect the world through music.
