P.O.D. [ tickets ], after occupying the main stage on this summer’s Ozzfest tour, has announced plans to set out on its own headlining U.S. run later this month, according to tour organizers. The jaunt--dubbed the Kings of the Game tour--kicks off on Oct. 23, and will also feature (hed) p.e., Project 86 and Linkin Park [ tickets ].

Prior to setting out on the Kings of the Game tour, P.O.D. has a headlining engagement in Denver at the Fillmore Auditorium on Saturday (10/7), and will follow that up with an Oct. 14 festival appearance in Colorado Springs, according to the group's official website.

The Kings of the Game tour is then scheduled to get underway on Oct. 23 in Cincinnati, followed by October dates throughout the Northeast, with stops in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

The November itinerary begins on Nov. 2 in Milwaukee, and will be followed by a number of Midwestern dates before the band loops back to the East Coast mid-month. The band also has radio festival appearances scheduled on Oct. 18 in Las Vegas, Oct. 19 in Dallas and Nov. 29 in Boston.

December dates will be added to the itinerary, according to the band’s official website. The group is also likely to headline a number of dates on an upcoming college tour sponsored by Calvin Klein, according to an Atlantic Records publicist. Those dates are expected to take place on the Kings of the Game tour’s days off, but have not been nailed down, according to the band’s manager.

P.O.D. is touring in support of “The Fundamental Elements of Southtown,” an album whose title is a reference to the group’s roots in the Southtown area of San Francisco. The band--a Christian-based rap-rock outfit--scored a hit this summer with the single “Rock the Party (Off the Hook),” the video for which hit No. 1 on MTV’s Total Request Live. The album has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

(hed) p.e. is touring in support of “Broke,” which was released in August. “Bartender,” the album’s first single, is currently No. 19 on industry trade publication Radio & Records’ active rock chart, which measures national airplay. The band recently finished an opening stint for Papa Roach.

Project 86 released “Drawing Black Lines,” the its second album, in March. Linkin Park, meanwhile--who won’t join the tour until Nov. 7--is set to release its debut album “Hybrid Theory” on Oct. 24.
