Neko Case builds bigger 'Cyclone' trek

Singer/songwriter Neko Case has added new dates to her upcoming tour in support of "Middle Cyclone," the singer's latest solo album.

The Canadian performer--who, aside from her solo career, is also a member of The New Pornographers--kicks off the outing May 28 in Albuquerque, NM. The trek splits into two legs, with Case taking a few weeks off in late June and early July before resuming the tour July 10 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and concluding with an Aug. 9 appearance at Chicago's Lollapalooza. Newly added cities on the trek include Buffalo, NY (6/23); Portland, ME (8/4) and Burlington, VT (8/5).

Joey Burns and John Convertino of Calexico will accompany Case on the tour's first five dates; beginning with the June 3 show in Vancouver, former Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle will provide support. Details are below.

"Middle Cyclone," Case's first release since 2006's "Fox Confessor Brings The Flood," features the singer and her band joined by a number of guests, including M. Ward, Garth Hudson and Sarah Harmer, as well as members of The New Pornographers, Los Lobos, Calexico and Giant Sand, among others.

The album, co-produced by Case with New Pornographers studio engineer Darryl Neudorf, surfaced in early March, debuting at No. 3 on The Billboard 200, which marked the singer's first entry in the US Top 10.

Case's latest single, "People Got A Lotta Nerve," hit radio stations in January. The video for the song can currently be accessed through Case's website.
