Peter Murphy [ tickets ] will give fans a glimpse of material from his forthcoming new solo album when he heads out on the road this spring and summer for a US headlining tour.

The former Bauhaus frontman kicks things off June 2 in Seattle, and wraps up the 31-city outing seven weeks later in the Midwest. Details are included below.

According to the singer's MySpace page, Murphy will preview material from his still-under-construction solo album on the trek. The record, when it arrives, will be Murphy's first solo effort since 2004's "Unshattered."

To coincide with the tour, Murphy will release four tracks through iTunes over the next few months, all of them covers of songs first performed by other artists. The first release will be Murphy's take on John Lennon's "Instant Karma."

Murphy and Bauhus released "Go Away White," the band's fifth official studio album and first since 1983's "Burning from the Inside," in early March. The group announced at the time that the disc would be its final record, and that no tour would follow. "Go Away White" was also the first new material from the iconic goth act since its 2005 reunion gig at Coachella and subsequent full tour.

Bauhaus initially broke up in 1983, leading to Murphy's solo career, while the band's other members continued on as, initially, Tones on Tail and, later, as Love and Rockets.
