Billboard.com reported that "Dave Matthews Band has stopped work on its forthcoming fifth RCA studio album with producer Steve Lillywhite, and plans to start from scratch in Los Angeles with producer Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette, Aerosmith) later this month."
Napster entered a federal appeals court on Monday (10/2) to appeal a lower court injunction against its MP3-file sharing operation.

CNN.com reported that MP3.com is organizing the "Million E-mail March," an attempt to raise support for legislation that would give people who can prove that they own a particular CD the right to store the CD online and stream its songs.
Marilyn Manson threatened legal action against any showing of the documentary "Demystifying The Devil, An Unauthorized Biography on Marilyn Manson," Spin.com reported.
According to Music Row, Lee Ann Womack has been asked to perform in the Nobel Peace Prize Concert on Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway. The concert will also feature Don Henley, Bryan Adams and Femi Kuti.
