Bobby Womack, Kenny Wayne Shepherd headline Long Beach Blues Fest

Bobby Womack , Kenny Wayne Shepherd , Mavis Staples and The Funky Meters will deliver the headlining performances at this year's Long Beach Blues Festival slated for Labor Day weekend.

The 30th annual blues event, which earns money for the publicly-supported jazz-and-blues station KJAZZ, takes place Sept. 5-6 at Long Beach, CA's Rainbow Lagoon Park. Along with the usual festival fare and vendor village, concertgoers can also pack their own picnics, something many other US festivals don't allow.

Tickets and VIP packages for the two-day jazz-and-blues extravaganza go on sale Saturday at the radio station's website, though pre-sale tickets are available now via Ticketmaster.

Other artists scheduled to perform include Johnny Winter, Blind Boys of Alabama, Bettye Lavette, Sonny Landreth, Homemade Jamz Blues Band, Duinna Greenleaf, Hill Country Revue and Andy Walo Trio.
