John Fogerty plays summer dates ahead of new album

John Fogerty roars into Canada on the final North American leg of his current tour, which comes a few months ahead of the release of the singer/songwriter's new studio album.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who kicked off his current road stretch earlier this month, continues the trek tonight (5/29) in Rochester Hills, MI, and tomorrow night (5/30) in Hammond, IN, before heading to Canada for seven dates, beginning with a June 1 show in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In July, Fogerty will launch into a summer European tour, kicking off with a series of shows in Spain. Overseas dates can be found at the performer's official website.
Fogerty will be touring ahead of a new studio album. Titled "John Fogerty: The Return of the Blue Ridge Rangers," the set revisits some of the same folksy territory that the former Creedence Clearwater Revival leader first surveyed on his 1973 solo set, "Blue Ridge Rangers."
"I've known for years that if I ever did a Blue Ridge Rangers album again I sure didn't want to play all the instruments," Fogerty told Billboard in December. "I had long felt that was probably something that was wrong with the first album."
Fogerty recorded the set in Santa Monica, CA, with co-producers T-Bone Burnett and Lenny Waronker, assisted by a team of veteran sidemen that included Buddy Miller, Greg Leisz, Dennis Crouch, Jay Bellerose and Kenny Aranoff. The album is slated for release sometime this fall.
Fogerty's previous studio album, the Grammy-nominated "Revival," surfaced in 2007.
