Clubs make way for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Club circuit veterans the Mighty Mighty Bosstones will continue to bring their ska-infused punk rock to familiar haunts throughout the fall, according to tour organizers. The band opened a seven-week North American tour last month, shortly after completing its stint on the Vans Warped tour.

Flogging Molly is the opening act for the venture, which is scheduled to run through mid-November.

The Bosstones are supporting their latest album “Pay Attention,” which hit stores in May. The album peaked at No. 74 on the Billboard 200 album chart shortly after its release.

The current tour opened on Sept. 9 in downtown Boston, where the Bosstones played a free show for a hometown crowd of 50,000 that turned out for a free, multi-act concert sponsored by radio station WFNX-FM.

According to the band’s official website, frontman Dicky Barrett invited former Bosstone guitarist Nate Albert on stage during the Boston show to perform "Devil's Night Out." Albert, a founding member of the band, departed the group after the recording of “Pay Attention” was completed.
