Travis Tritt’s return gains steam with new album release
With a freshly minted album in record stores--his first in two years-- Travis Tritt has entered the final weeks of a three-month, 40-plus date U.S. tour that got underway in August. Tritt is re-emerging as touring artist after a self-imposed 18-month break from the road.
The new album “Down the Road I Go” is Tritt’s first for his new label Columbia/Nashville. The country musician joined the label after a decade-long stint with Warner Bros.
No Travis Tritt single had charted in Billboard's top country singles since 1997's "Where Corn Don't Grow," but “Best of Intentions," the first single from "Down the Road I Go," is currently among country’s top 10 singles. According to Columbia/Nashville, the track is the fastest-rising single of Tritt’s career.
Tritt will perform the title track from the new album on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” on Wednesday (10/4). He’s expected to resume touring in 2001.
