Steve Earle stakes out southern U.S. dates
Steve Earle , who is currently on tour in Europe behind his latest release “Transcendental Blues” (E-Squared), will headline several southern U.S. dates in November, according to his label. The critically acclaimed songwriter and musician has been on the road with his band the Dukes since July.
The November club and theater dates will precede Earle’s December appearances on five Emmylou Harris-led Concerts for a Landmine Free World, which will benefit the non-profit Campaign for a Landmine Free World. Bruce Cockburn, Nanci Griffith, Mary Chapin Carpenter and John Prine have also been enlisted for this year's anti-landmine concerts, all of which will take place in the northeastern U.S. and in Canada.
After concluding their European tour, Earle & the Dukes are scheduled to perform “I Can Wait” on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Oct. 18.
On Oct. 20, ABC's "Nightline" is scheduled to devote its entire broadcast to a documentary profile of Earle. The program was initially scheduled to air on Oct. 6, but has since been pushed back.
