The Offspring plans outing with Cypress Hill, MxPx
The Offspring plans to follow the release of its forthcoming album with a North American tour that will also feature Cypress Hill and MxPx , according to the Offspring’s official website. The group’s “Conspiracy of One” is due to hit shelves on Nov. 14.
The triple-bill’s upcoming string of dates is scheduled to kick off in Anaheim, Calif. on Nov. 17, with subsequent November dates throughout the West, including four other California shows, and stops in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Denver.
The December itinerary kicks off on Dec. 1 in Detroit, and then finds the tour in Canada on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6. The remaining dates carry the tour through the Northeast, with a final stop scheduled in Philadelphia on Dec. 17.
Venues for the tour have not yet been announced, according to a spokesperson for the Offspring.
Last month, the Offspring and its label Columbia Records squared off after the band announced plans to release “Conspiracy of One” in its entirety as a free download. The battle resulted in the group agreeing to release only the album’s first single ”Original Prankster” as a free download.
“Conspiracy of One” is the follow-up to the group’s multi-platinum, 1998 release “Americana.”
Cypress Hill is touring in support of it latest, “Skull and Bones,” which hit stores in April. The group spent part of its summer opening for Limp Bizkit’s Napster-sponsored free tour. Both groups are also scheduled to perform at Cypress Hill’s third annual Smoke Out festival, which is set to take place on Saturday (10/7) in San Bernardino, Calif.
MxPx is touring behind its April release “The Ever Passing Moment.” The group also plans to release an EP of new material soon, according to its official website.
