Jonas Brothers ready for first 'in the round' tour

In 2008, the Jonas Brothers sold out two tours, won an American Music Award, were nominated for a Grammy and two MTV Video Music Awards and were invited to play the White House. But, while such lofty career accomplishments are meaningful, the brothers say that family is what's most important to them.

"We are not perfect," Kevin Jonas said during a recent teleconference. "We live everyday, day-by-day and we do the best to make our mom proud."

Nick Jonas added, "For us, it's also about the family base. We've made that rule No. 1 from day one---that making sure that the family comes first--and that we focus on that. That's the priority and also we live by the rule, 'We live life as if it's at the top like we're at the bottom,' which basically means stay humble and keep the right attitude."

The Jonas Brothers will kick off their next world tour June 20 in Dallas with opening acts Jordin Sparks and Honor Society in tow. The shows will be in the round, providing more ideal seats than a traditional concert setting.

"We've never embarked on an in-the-round tour in our lives and so to be able to go on tour and do it, it's going to be amazing," Kevin Jonas said. "I mean we can't wait. We are very excited about everything."

Nick Jonas added, "And so there are more front-row seats now, and there's more of a real genuine connection with each and every person in the arena. And as far as cover songs and old songs, we're definitely looking into changing some of our songs and mixing it up a little bit and making it different exciting and new--and then also doing some covers. I think we have two in mind right now, and as we talk more and more with our team, we'll figure out which one's the right one to do. But overall, the tour's going to be a lot of fun, and we're so excited that we're really going to be able to have this true connection with our fans through the tour being in-the-round."

The tour is in support of the Jonas Brothers' fourth studio album, "Lines, Vines and Trying Times," due for release June 16. Inspired by the likes of The Zutons and Kings of Leon, the new album was produced by John Fields, who has turned the knobs for the Jonas Brothers' previous three records.

"This new album, for us, I wouldn't say it's a big jump, but it definitely is a progression in our music and a growth for us," Joe Jonas said.

"We're very excited about this new album. It feels like just a good growth in our music and it has a lot of more kind of horns in the record and a lot more strings. Also, there’s more to the music rather than just a typical kind of relationship song. We had the opportunity to write the songs for our new television show and that kind of helped us as writers kind of think out of the box. And so, with our new record we kind of wanted to do the same, and that's exactly what we are doing.
So we're really proud of what we have so far. We're about nine songs in and we have only about a few more to go and it's just been going really well and we're really excited for everyone to hear it."
