Third 'Idol' inks record deal

Allison Iraheta has signed a contract with 19 Recordings for her debut album to be released on Jive Records, according to a press release.

Iraheta--who finished this year's " American Idol " competition in fourth place--is the third season-eight contestant to sign a recording contract in nearly as many days; "Idol" winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert both announced record deals earlier this week.

Iraheta, who at age 16 was the youngest contestant to make it into the Top 12, said in a statement that she is still in shock over the "whole awesome experience."

Now 17, Iraheta is from Downey, CA. She reportedly is a first generation American born to Salvadoran immigrants.
