Emmylou Harris headlines Kate Wolf fest

Emmylou Harris , Richard Thompson and Patty Griffin will be among the artists joining forces June 26-28 at the 14th annual Kate Wolf Memorial Musical Festival at the Black Oak Ranch in Mendocino County, CA, according to a press release. The annual festival honoring the late folksinger/songwriter--who penned Harris' 1999 Grammy-nominated "Love Still Remains"--also will feature Mavis Staples, Shawn Colvin, Blind Boys of Alabama, Dave Alvin, Preservation Jazz Hall Band and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, among others.

This year's event will feature several sets of collaborations, including Alvin, Elliott and Chris Smither; Harris, Griffin, Colvin and Buddy Miller; and Rosalie Sorrels and Ramblin' Jack Elliot.

New this year to the festival will be "Utahpia," an area named for the late Utah Phillips, who in addition to being an influential folksinger, was a friend to Kate Wolf. "Utahpia" will feature a stage, general store, artisan vendors and an area to play board games in a relaxed setting.

Tickets and additional festival information can be found at the event promoter's website.
