Marianne Faithfull supports 'Easy Come, Easy Go'
Following a summer European run, Marianne Faithfull will bring her "Easy Come, Easy Go" tour to a handful of US markets this fall.
The trek, which kicks off Sept. 24 in New York City, will stop by eight cities across the nation, concluding with an Oct. 21 performance in Jacksonville, FL. The full schedule is below.
Faithfull's international tour supports her most recent release, "Easy Come, Easy Go," which surfaced stateside in March and landed at No. 182 on The Billboard 200. The double-disc set--a follow-up to 2005's "Before the Poison"--features covers from a variety of artists, including Merle Haggard ("Sing Me Back Home"), Morrissey ("Dear God Please Help Me") and Dolly Parton ("Down From Dover"), as well as special guests such as Cat Power, Nick Cave and Keith Richards.
The English singer/actress, whose 20-album discography spans five decades, got her musical start with "As Tears Go By," the first song co-written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Her early career coincided with well-publicized drug use and a tumultuous relationship with Jagger and fellow Rolling Stones.
"I have completely coped, I've got over the pain," Faithfull told the UK's Telegraph in a recent interview about her hard times. "It took me awhile but I write it out. Now I just really think about the positive stuff, and how fond I am of Charlie [Watts] and Keith and even Mick. They have done amazing things. And I am part of it, this dysfunctional family. I wouldn't have missed it for anything."
