Rob Thomas sets up massive fall tour
With his second solo album due in stores next week, Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas is gearing up for huge fall outing in support of the set.
Thomas has unveiled a list of dates and cities for the headlining run, which is due to launch in late September and so far stretches into mid-November. Stops are currently planned in more than 30 cities; venues have not yet been announced. Details are shown below.
OneRepublic and Carolina Liar will hold down the tour's opening slots, according to a press release.
Next Tuesday (6/30), Thomas' sophomore solo effort hits the street. The set comes four years after the singer's solo debut, 2005's "... Something to Be," which made chart history when Thomas became the first male artist from a rock or pop group to debut at No. 1 with his inaugural solo album, according to a press release.
"Cradlesong" currently is streaming in its entirety via VH1's "The Leak," and the video for the set's first single, "Her Diamonds," is posted at Thomas' website.
Also due out next Tuesday is "Rob Thomas: Something to Be Tour - Live at Red Rocks," which captures Thomas' June 2006 performance at the famous Colorado venue.
Thomas' new releases follow his 2007 reunion with his Matchbox Twenty bandmates for the release of "Exile On Mainstream," which was the first group effort since the 2003 six-song collection, "EP."
