Snow Patrol plan 'Hundred Million Suns' tour
With a European festival run set to kick off next week, Snow Patrol has announced a headlining tour of North America this fall behind last year's "A Hundred Million Suns."
The UK alt-rockers will return to the States for a 22-city outing beginning Sept. 10 in Saint Paul, MN, including a trio of two-night stands as opening support for U2's 360 Tour Sept. 12-13 in Chicago, Sept. 16-17 in Toronto and Sept. 20-21 in Foxborough, MA. The club-and-theater trek works its way across the country to the West Coast, concluding Oct. 20 in Los Angeles. Details are shown below.
Tickets for the fall shows go on sale Saturday (6/27), while members of the Snow Patrol online fan club will have presale access before the general public.
Released last October, "A Hundred Million Suns," the band's fifth studio set, was recorded last summer in Berlin's Hansa Studios--the same place David Bowie recorded "Low," "Heroes" and "Lodger"--and produced by Garret "Jackknife" Lee (U2, R.E.M.).
"It's not a band-producer relationship," singer/guitarist Gary Lightbody explained during a recent LiveDaily interview. "It's much more than that. He's involved right from the beginning. He's a very, very important person to us. He pushed us so bloody hard this time. We were exhausted by the end of the record, but it was well worth it."
The UK-based band rose to fame with the hit single, "Chasing Cars," from the group's fourth album, 2006's "Eyes Open."
