Katy Perry marks anniversary of 'Boys' with summer shows
Katy Perry will mark the first anniversary of the release of her smash 2008 album "One of the Boys" with a slate of summer concert appearances.
The pop singer/songwriter, who is currently overseas on an early summer European outing, kicks off her next leg of North American dates July 25 in Boston. Perry has 10 shows lined up through the summer months, including appearances in New York City (7/28) and Los Angeles (8/29).
The itinerary includes an Aug. 30 makeup date in Santa Barbara, CA, rescheduled from earlier this year when the singer was forced to cancel her planned concert due to wildfires. American dates are included below; the performer's overseas itinerary can be found at her website.
Perry released her major-label debut, "One of the Boys," last July. The set debuted at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA, with sales exceeding one million copies in the US.
The album spawned the monster hit "I Kissed a Girl," which spent seven weeks atop the Billboard singles chart and sold more than three million copies. The track became a worldwide hit, topping the charts in more than 30 countries around the globe.
Three other songs from the set--"Hot N Cold," "Thinking of You" and "Waking Up in Vegas"--also charted, with the latter bolting into the Top 10 after the singer performed the song on a recent episode of "American Idol."
