Phish teases plans for three-day festival

Jam band Phish , which made its name in part by playing multiple sets during extravagant multi-day festivals, is preparing to do it again over Halloween weekend.

A splash page currently displayed on Phish's website currently reads, "Save the Date ... A 3-day festival 10/30, 10/31, 11/01."

Further details, including the location of the festival, haven't been announced, however, current rumors have the event taking place at Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, where the annual, multi-day Coachella and Stagecoach festivals take place.

Phish's most recent multi-day festival was Aug. 14-15, 2004 in Coventry, VT, and marked the beginning of a four-plus-year hiatus for the band. The band held the two-day "It" festival Aug. 2-3, 2003, at the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, ME.

The group's other multi-day festivals were 1996's The Clifford Ball in Plattsburgh, NY; 1997's The Great Went in Limestone, ME; 1998's Lemonwheel in Limestone, ME; 1999's Camp Oswego in Volney, NY; and 1999's Big Cypress at the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in Florida.

The Vermont-based band plans to release a new, 10-track studio album titled "Joy" this summer. The set was recorded in New York City with producer Steve Lillywhite.

Phish disbanded following 2004's Coventry, and reconvened this March for a three-day engagement at Hampton, VA's Hampton Coliseum. The band recently wrapped up a month-long leg of dates, and another three-week run of shows will get underway at the end of July.
