Our Lady Peace 'Burn' path across North America
Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace have taken to the road for a summer run in anticipation of the group's forthcoming album, "Burn Burn."
The North American outing resumes this week with a slew of festival appearances throughout Canada, including Vancouver's Virgin Fest (7/25), Regina's Summer Invasion (7/24) and Brandon's X Fest (8/8). The alt-rock outfit will finish up the summer with a six-date stretch in the Midwest, concluding Aug. 22 in Chicago. Details are included below.
"Burn Burn," the group's seventh studio album, will hit retailers July 21 in two forms: a traditional 10-track disc, as well as a CD/DVD combo featuring bonus tracks, music videos and studio footage.
"Our goal from the beginning was to keep the flow in the studio constant," the band stated about the new work at their MySpacepage. "We have tried not to investigate and overanalyze every little detail of the songs. It's been revolutionary, for us at least, to capture the song as soon as it had been written. In doing this we captured a freshness and honesty that we've only hinted at before."
The record's first single, "All You Did Was Save My Life," peaked at No. 12 on Billboard's Canadian Hot 100 and is currently in rotation on US radio stations nationwide. The track and its subsequent video are streaming at the band's MySpace page.
"Burn Burn" follows the "Healthy in Paranoid Times," which surfaced in 2005.
