U.K. Charts: Radioheads 'Kid A' goes to No. 1 as expected
Radiohead replaced Madonna at the top of the Official U.K. Album Chart on Sunday (10/8) as its fourth album "Kid A" debuted at No. 1. Meanwhile, the pop queens latest offering "Music" fell to No. 2 and Robbie Williams "Sing When Youre Winning" held fast at No. 3.
Other new entries in the Top 20 included punk group Green Days "Warning" at No. 4, teen pop star Billie Pipers second LP "Walk of Life" at No. 14 and "Youre The One," Paul Simons first new studio album since 1990, at No. 20.
Jumps up the chart this week included Eminems "The Marshall Mathers LP"--which has now sold over 600,000 copies in the U.K.--from No. 5 to No. 6, after he was named best hip-hop act at the MOBO Awards last week. The Corrs moved up from No. 21 to No. 12, and Savage Garden moved from No. 31 to No. 23.
All Saints chalked up their second No. 1 single of the year as "Black Coffee" knocked Westlife and Mariah Careys duet "Against All Odds" down to No. 2. The second highest new entry of the week was Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan at No. 3 with Silence.
Other new entries in the Top 10 included Texas "In Demand" at No. 6, Whitney Houston and Enrique Iglesias "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" at No. 7 and Eminems "The Way I Am" at No. 8.
Meanwhile, Zombie Nation fell from No. 2 to No. 5 and Spice Girl Melanie Bs solo single "Tell Me" fell from No. 4 to No. 12.
