Melvins plot summer mayhem on tour with Down

Alt-metal veterans The Melvins will head out on the road later this summer for an outing alongside another experienced metal crew.
The tour, which will also feature Southern US heavy metal "supergroup" Down (featuring members of Pantera and Corrosion of Conformity), kicks off Aug. 7 in San Jose, CA, and will run through late September. Details are included below.
"Nude With Boots," which surfaced about a year ago, is the Melvins' 16th studio album in a career that spans more than two decades, dating back to the group's 1986 debut EP, "Six Songs."
Recorded in Los Angeles over a two-year period, the latest album features the same lineup-- career Melvins Buzz Osborne (guitar, vocals) and Dale Crover (drums) with Jared Warren (bass, vocals) and Coady Willis (drums) of fellow Seattle indie rockers Big Business--that recorded the group's previous effort, 2006's "(A) Senile Animal."
In June last year, the band's original lineup from 1983 performed two shows at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall in honor of Jello Biafra's 50th birthday. Both shows consisted of early songs that were collected on 2005's "The Mangled Demos," released by Biafra's label, Alternative Tentacles.
