Bruce Springsteen adds more dates to 'Dream' run
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band have lengthened their forthcoming "Workin' On a Dream" tour, which now totals 25 stateside stops through late fall.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and his band--currently in the midst of a European leg--have tacked another 16 concerts onto the US trek, which gets underway Aug. 19 in Hartford, CT. Springsteen's five-night run at New Jersey's Giants Stadium, thought just last month to be the tour's final performances, now marks its midway point; the outing is currently set to conclude Nov. 15 in Milwaukee. The full itinerary is shown below, while international dates are available at his official website.
The rock icon's short-term residency at Giants Stadium, which begins Sept. 30 and continues Oct. 2-3 and Oct. 8-9, will constitute the last-ever musical concerts to take place at the venue; the sports and entertainment arena is scheduled to close at the end of the 2009 NFL season.
"Working on a Dream," Springsteen's 16th studio set, hit shelves in January and follows his platinum-certified 2007 release, "Magic." The new record debuted at No. 1, becoming the ninth chart-topping album of his 40-year career. Among the 13 tracks is the bonus track "The Wrestler," the theme song for the 2008 film of the same name, for which The Boss won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
