Beastie Boys [ tickets ] have added a few amphitheater shows to their impending tour schedule as the band prepares to take its eighth studio album out on the road.

Kicking off Sept. 19 and 20 in Santa Barbara, CA, the dates follow a number of mid-summer festival appearances, including a July 31 slot at New Jersey's All Points West Festival. Additional amphitheater dates follow at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (9/24), Morrison, CO's Red Rocks (9/27) and Miami's Bayfront Park (10/8). Details are included below.

Tickets for the Colorado appearance go on sale July 18 at 10 a.m. MDT, while tickets for the two Santa Barbara shows will go on sale to the public beginning July 25 at 11 a.m. PDT. Tickets for the LA and Miami shows are currently on sale.

The group's forthcoming eighth studio album, "Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1," is due in stores Sept. 15. The set is the trio's first release of new music since 2007's "The Mix-Up," and first collection of non-instrumental studio tracks since 2004's "To the 5 Boroughs."

"It's a combination of playing and sampling stuff as we're playing, and also sampling pretty obscure records," the group's Adam "MCA" Yauch told a BBC reporter earlier this year. "There are a lot of songs on the record and there are a lot of short songs and they kind of all run into each other."

The trio plans to release the album in two parts, with "Part 1" serving as a traditional CD release, and a possible "Part 2" following at some point as either intermittent singles or in downloadable form.

"We're still figuring it out, but a different way. More of a 2009 style," Mike D told Drowned in Sound recently. "You could get in the shower one day and, boom, all of a sudden you’re showered with MP3s. Or we might send people a seven-inch every few weeks, so you have a whole box set."
