B.B. King keeps up pace with more shows

Despite his advanced age, B.B. King continues to tackle a seemingly never-ending tour schedule, which will now keep the blues legend on the road well past his impending 84th birthday.

Currently in the midst of a European tour--a reversal of his 2006 announcement that he would no longer venture abroad due, in part, to his age--King returns to US stages in mid-August, and currently has shows stacked up through November. Details are included below.

Despite the busy schedule, King does appear poised to take a little time off to mark his Sept. 25 birthday; the Mississippi native will cap his September schedule with a pair of early September shows in his home state before taking the rest of that month off.

King, a 14-time Grammy winner, scored the highest-debuting solo album of his nearly 60-year career with his latest release, "One Kind Favor." The set, which surfaced in August of last year, debuted at No. 37 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Produced by T Bone Burnett (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Roy Orbison), "One Kind Favor" features covers of old blues songs that inspired King as a young man, and was made to sound like it was recorded in the '50s. Players include Dr. John on piano, Nathan East on standup bass and Jim Keltner on drums. The track "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" is streaming at King's MySpace page.
