Fronted by lefty guitarist Tim Armstrong, Nor-Cal ska/punk veterans Rancid are credited with reviving interest in the genre during the mid-'90s. The lineup still maintains three of the four members who formed the group in 1991. In 1993, they invited a friend by the name of Billie Joe Armstrong, who co-wrote their single "Radio," to join Rancid, but he chose to stick with his group Green Day .
With a discography of live albums outnumbering studio albums by five to one, it's not a stretch to conclude that Rancid's forte is performing in real time. Last month (6/10), the group kicked off its current tour in support of "Let The Dominoes Fall" and, along with Rise Against and Billy Talent , will be on the road through mid August.
LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder attended Rancid's show in Reno last Wednesday (7/8), and here are some of his photos.
