Ronnie James Dio [ tickets ], who is currently touring Europe with Deep Purple [ tickets ], plans to tour the U.S. with his band Dio in November and December, according to his official website. The 18-date run is scheduled to get underway on Nov. 15 in San Francisco.

Dio is scheduled to make stops throughout the West, including three California dates, a Las Vegas show, a Salt Lake City performance, and two separate stops in Colorado. The November itinerary ends with a two-night stand at Chicago’s House of Blues.

December gets underway with two consecutive nights at Harpos in Detroit, then a subsequent show in Grand Rapids, Mich. Dates in Ohio, Massachusetts and New York follow, with the current itinerary wrapping up with three separate Florida appearances on Dec. 14-16.

Dio began touring earlier this year in support of its latest album “Magica,” which was released in March. “The Very Beast of Dio,” a 16-track compilation, was released on Oct. 3.

On Deep Purple's European tour, Ronnie James Dio is joining the band on stage for several songs each night, including a couple of tunes from “Magica,” according to his official website. Deep Purple is travelling with a 79-piece orchestra.

Dio lent vocals to several tracks on “Deep Purple in Concert with the London Symphony Orchestra,” which was released in February.

Ronnie James Dio first rose to fame in the mid ‘70s while fronting Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. The singer also spent time fronting Black Sabbath in the early ‘80s after Ozzy Osbourne’s departure, and again for a brief stint in the early ‘90s. His solo career began with the release of “Holy Diver” in 1983, which featured the song “Rainbow in the Dark.”
