Kelly Clarkson unveils fall tour plans
Kelly Clarkson has mapped the fall portion of her North American tour in support of her latest studio set, "All I Ever Wanted."
The singer--whose summer tour leg continues Thursday night (7/23) in Costa Mesa, CA--kicks off the fall portion of the trek Oct. 2 in Uncasville, CT. The outing will cover 32 cities in the US and Canada, and will extend through mid-December, with opening support from Australian sister duo The Veronicas and Virginia pop-rockers Parachute. Details are included below.
Tickets for the first new shows go on sale Aug. 15, with additional dates to follow. More information on ticket on sale dates can be found at Clarkson's website.
Clarkson's fourth studio album, "All I Ever Wanted," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 when it surfaced in March. The record's first two singles--"My Life Would Suck Without You" and "I Do Not Hook Up"--have spent time on the Billboard Hot 100 and the magazine's Hot 100 Airplay chart, respectively.
Clarkson employed a host of producers on the set, including alt-rock ace Howard Benson (P.O.D., Hoobastank) and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. The process involved "a lot of cooks," Clarkson told USA Today earlier this year. "There's the team at my label, my management and me. But for this album, pretty much everyone agreed on most of the songs."
In other Clarkson news, cable music network VH1 announced that the singer would join Adele, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus for a televised live "VH1 Divas" concert Sept. 17, when the channel brings back the series following a four-year hiatus. The event will take place at Brooklyn, NY's Howard Gilman Opera House on the campus of the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Past performers on "VH1 Divas" have included Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Chaka Khan and others.
