Drivin' N' Cryin' back with 'Great American Bubble Factory'

Southern rockers Drivin' N' Cryin' will release "Great American Bubble Factory," their first new studio album in more than a decade, this fall.
The quartet--made of original members Kevn Kinney (vocals/guitars), Tim Nielson (bass/mandolin) and Mac Carter (guitar) and new addition Dave Johnson (drums)--recorded the 12-track album earlier this year at Atlanta's Sonica Studios. Produced in collaboration with Anton Fier and former manager-turned-producer James Barber, the new work--slated to hit shelves Sept. 29--originally began when the band entered the studio Sept. 10, 2001 to record demos. According to a press release, "the band abandoned the sessions after deciding the time wasn't right for their stories of blue-collar optimism."

The album's first single, "Detroit City," is currently streaming at the band' MySpace page.
"This record is the perfect crescendo to a long 20-plus year career of the band," singer Kevn Kinney said in a press release. "I think we've found the true essence of what we started to build back in 1985."
