'VH1 Divas' returns with Miley Cyrus, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis

After a four-year hiatus, "VH1 Divas" will return this fall with a live concert featuring Miley Cyrus , Adele , Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis .

The pop performance will air live on the music network Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. ET from New York's Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard Gilman Opera House. Along with the four female pop stars, the concert will also include special guests, presenters and other performers, all of which will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release.

"Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world's attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year," VH1 exec Lee Rolontz said in a press release. "Don't let some of their young ages fool you--these women are the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come."

Fans can contribute video testimonials and stories of how these songstresses have influenced their lives at the show's website; some will be featured online and on-air as a lead-in to the September event.

Since its 1998 premiere, "VH1 Divas" has celebrated the careers of Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and many others. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to restoring instrumental music education to public schools throughout America.

Cyrus, the youngest of the four singers at 16, is preparing for the fall launch of her world tour behind last summer's "Breakout" and her recently released film and subsequent soundtrack, "Hannah Montana 3."

Grammy Award-winning British singer Adele released her major label debut, "19," early last year. The album has sold nearly 2.5 million copies worldwide and the lead single, "Chasing Pavements," peaked at No. 10 on The Billboard 200.

Leona Lewis, another British-born songstress, swept the singles charts last year with "Bleeding Love," a track from her 2007 debut, "Spirit."

Kelly Clarkson jump-started her career when she took the first-ever title of "American Idol" in 2002. Since then, she's released four albums, with the most recent one--"All I Ever Wanted"--debuting at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in March.
