Jay-Z takes All Points West headlining spot

Jay-Z will make his US festival debut at New Jersey's All Points West Festival later this month, filling the Friday night headlining spot left by the Beastie Boys' cancellation.

Earlier this week, the Beastie Boys pulled the plug on their upcoming tour and the release of their forthcoming album, "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1," after Adam "MCA" Yauch discovered a cancerous tumor in his left salivary gland.

Fans can request refunds for Friday single day tickets only at the point of purchase, according to a press release.

Jay-Z, who has performed at a variety of festivals across the pond, is laying the groundwork for his forthcoming album, "The Blueprint 3," which is set to hit shelves Sept. 11. The superstar's new effort features a handful of special guests, including Rihanna, MGMT and Kud Cudi.

The three-day All Points West festival, slated for July 31-Aug. 2, will feature Tool and Coldplay as Saturday and Sunday night headliners respectively.

Other acts scheduled to perform include Echo & the Bunnymen, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, The Black Keys, Neko Case, My Bloody Valentine, as well as more than 50 others. The full lineup is available at the event website.
