Rock icons AC/DC, who launched their North American summer tour earlier this week, have added a handful of new dates to the run.

New to the itinerary since last check are October stops in Las Vegas; Lousiville, KY; Kansas City, MO; and Des Moines, IA. The shows pump up the tour's second US leg, which kicks off Oct. 1 in Phoenix.

Meanwhile, the Australian rockers will stay busy with the tour's in-progress first leg through early September. Details are included below.

Tuesday night's (7/28) tour kick-off in Foxborough, MA, marked the 30th anniversary of the release of the group's classic album "Highway to Hell." Three decades later, the band continues to be a commercial success; last year's "Black Ice," the quintet's first new studio set since 2000, debuted at No. 1 in 29 countries including the US and became Columbia Records' biggest debut album since Nielson SoundScan sales tracking began in 1991--this despite being available exclusively via Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and AC/DC's website.

AC/DC launched the first leg of the "Black Ice World Tour" last October, marking the band's first live performances in five years. They posted sellouts in 18 cities and broke sales records at several venues.
