After a five-month break, jam-rock outfit Disco Biscuits [ tickets ] will return to the road in mid-September in anticipation of its forthcoming fifth studio album, "The Planet Anthem."

The Philadelphia-based quartet will begin the US trek with a two-night stand Sept. 12-13 in Sayreville, NJ, followed by a sweep through the South and parts of the East and West Coasts. The 30-date outing includes a couple of two-night runs--Oct. 9-10 in Northampton, MA and Nov. 20-21 in San Francisco--before wrapping up Nov. 22 in Santa Cruz, CA. Tickets for the performances go on sale Aug. 2 at the band's website and through Ticketmaster shortly thereafter. (LiveDaily is an operating unit of Ticketmaster Entertainment, which also owns Ticketmaster.)

Though the Disco Biscuits are planning a January release for "The Planet Anthem," which will follow 2002's "Senor Boombox," fans won't have to wait for new material from the record. Two new tracks--"Konkrete" and "You and I"--are currently available as free downloads at the band's website, and the jam rockers plan to roll out a series of EPs every six weeks leading up to the record's 2010 drop date.

The multimedia discs will include singles, remixes and music videos, according to a press release, and will be available online and at concert stops throughout the year.
