Barbra Streisand introduces new album with free club show

Barbra Streisand will make her first club appearance in more than 40 years next month in anticipation of her forthcoming jazz album, "Love Is The Answer."

On Sept. 26, the legendary singer/actress will return to New York City's Village Vanguard for the first time since her 1961 gig opening for Miles Davis, this time performing jazz standards and classics from her Sept. 29 release, "Love Is The Answer."

Tickets to the show are free and will be given to a select number of fans who either pre-order the new album at Streisand's website or registered free of charge through an online entry form posted at the website. The sweepstakes runs through Sept. 8.

The new album features Canadian jazz performer Diana Krall on piano, as well as Krall's own quartet. Streisand also collaborated with songwriter/Grammy-winning arranger Johnny Mandrel on the title track; the two worked together on Streisand's 1993 release "Back in Broadway."

"Love Is the Answer" follows the icon's 2005 studio set, "Guilty Pleasures."
