Under clear skies, the crowd tally reached an estimated 75,000 on Day 2 of Lollapalooza on Saturday (8/8). However, according to the Chicago Tribune, the event appeared oversold at one point in the late afternoon, when a majority of fans swarmed the North end of Grant Park for back-to-back performances of Arctic Monkeys , Santigold , and TV on The Radio.
Generating buzz that proved the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree was a set by Dhani Harrison (son of George Harrison) and his band Thenewno2 . Other artists of the day included headliners Tool , as well as Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Band of Horses , Glasvegas , Ben Harper and the Relentless7, and Ida Maria .
