Maxwell plans fall arena outing
Maxwell will return to the road this fall after wrapping a sold-out summer run behind his fourth album, "BLACKsummers'night."
The R&B singer, who spent the summer on a 24-city club and theater tour of the US, has added a handful of Canadian dates and sporadic US arena shows to his fall schedule, which begins Sept. 25 in Toronto and currently runs through an Oct. 17 performance in San Francisco. Details are shown below.
Common and Chrisette Michele will provide opening support for most shows. More concerts will be announced in the near future, according to a press release.
"BLACKsummers'night," Maxwell's fourth studio set and first since 2001's "Now," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 when it surfaced early last month. The new record is the first installment in a planned trilogy, which also includes "BlackSUMMERS'night" and "Blacksummers'NIGHT," slated for release in 2010 and 2011, respectively, according to a press release.
